Sammy Papert partners with Coda Ventures

Coda Ventures announced today that long-time newspaper industry veteran, Sammy Papert, will assume the role of executive sales consultant in charge of newspaper sales starting April 1. Papert brings experience in national advertising sales, custom market research and digital technologies to the company.

In addition to selling Coda’s Local Market studies, Papert will work closely with the Coda team to launch Coda’s latest suite of research solutions — Coda Reader Engagement Studies.  These new tools are designed to obtain direct feedback from readers about their engagement with a newspaper’s local news content, enabling newsrooms to create user-driven strategies to deliver more engaging content.

According to Marianne Grogan, Coda’s president, “We are excited to have Sammy join the team.  His diverse experience in all facets of the newspaper business will help our clients meet their advertising and editorial objectives.”

Papert, who is president of Wormhole, Inc., an independent consultancy representing software and data solutions companies, adds, “I could not be happier to get back to my research roots.  Even better, helping newspapers with their content decisions complements my continuing work in demonstrating how to use research to garner more revenue.”

Dave Storey is leaving Coda to join the Corridor Media Group, effective April 1.
