La Prensa Riverside, the Spanish-language weekly published by The Press Enterprise in Riverside, Calif., is increasing its distribution over the coming months to 107,500 copies from its current 67,500.
Starting in August, the paper will increase its distribution by 10,000 copies every six weeks. To handle the increased distribution, the paper is adding 1,000 newsracks, its publisher, Frank Escobedo, told the online Latino news site Portada.
The increased circ is being pushed by advertiser demand, especially by retailers, and significant growth in the Hispanic population in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, Escobedo said.
Riverside County, for instance, has increased its Hispanic population to 48.1% of the population from 29.2% in 2000.
