Local media ad revenue is expected to hit $148 billion in 2017, rising from $132.5 billion in 2012 at a rate of 2.3% annually, according to BIA/Kelsey’s new “U.S. Local Media Forecast (2012-2017)” released today.

Revenue from digital media is expected to continue growing at 12.3% per year to reach $41.1 billion by 2017. BIA/Kelsey predicted digital’s share of the local ad market will rise from 17.4% in 2012 to 27.6% in 2017.
