A power failure in downtown Memphis that lasted several hours overnight Thursday knocked out power to The Commercial Appeals plant, delaying delivery of the Friday edition.
The Commercial Appeal said about one-third of its home delivery subscribers did not get a paper Friday because of the outage.
In a note to readers the paper said, “Furthermore, we apologize for our inability to respond to customer inquiries due to the high call volume from concerned subscribers.”
