Charles Koch confirmed he has been looking at newspapers lately, not as a mouthpiece for Koch Industries but as a business based on providing a “marketplace of ideas.”

The billionaire industrialist, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, said he wouldn’t deviate from his longtime insistence upon running profitable businesses. “If we got in the media, it would need to stand on its own and have good economics, create real value for the marketplace, or we wouldn’t be interested,” he told the Journal in an interview at Koch’s Wichita headquarters.
