John Galer was happy to hear Monday that the impending slowdown of mail by the U.S. Postal Service will have little effect on delivery of the semiweekly and weekly newspapers he publishes in Hillsboro, Raymond and elsewhere in Montgomery, Macoupin, Bond and Madison counties.

 “That’s a huge relief for me,” said Galer, publisher of the Hillsboro Journal-News.
