ANNA -- At about 8:35 a.m. Thursday, Anna City Police received a call stating the publisher of the Anna Gazette-Democrat had found a grenade on his desk. The grenade appeared to be live.

Anna Police Chief Dale Foster responded and called in Illinois State Police and the Secretary of State Bomb Squad.
