The Ohio Supreme Court today refused to hold a newspaper reporter in contempt for refusing to testify in a disciplinary case against a lawyer.

The justices dismissed a case in which the Akron Bar Association asked them to hold reporter Phil Trexler of the Akron Beacon Journal in contempt for declining to answer questions about a story he wrote that led a judge to complain he was smeared by a lawyer that Trexler quoted.
