In partnership with Jim’s Music Center in Tustin, the Register and Jim’s Music Center will provide new musical instruments and equipment to support students’ love and interest in music. Schools and music programs in Orange County and the surrounding area may be designated as program participants and beneficiaries.
The Register is inviting the community to support local music programs by buying a subscription to the Orange County Register. Each subscription will generate a $100 gift voucher to Jim’s Music Center for the qualified school or music program. Organizations or individuals may sign up for the Register’s Music program by visiting ocregister.com/fundraising/music or call Gail Courtney at 714-796-3676.
"One of the vital roles of an institution like the Register is to bring the community together, and engage them around topics and experiences that are meaningful," said Aaron Kushner, Publisher of the Register. "Through the Orange County Register Music Program, the community is investing in the next generation of young musicians and supporting the life-enriching benefits of music in schools."
"Seeing a child develop a sense of empowerment and accomplishment through music is incredibly inspiring, and the more we can shine light and support our county's music programs the more vibrant our community will be," Kushner added.
Orange County Register Music Program is the latest initiative in the Register's ongoing expansion of content and services to strengthen Orange County and help its communities grow.
In March, the Register launched a new standalone OCVarsity Arts section every Sunday and more than doubled its coverage of the arts and entertainment in the daily newspaper.
Additionally, to further foster the spirit of volunteerism and giving back to the community, the Register debuted a new Faith & Values section in March, which includes a robust list of Volunteer Opportunities submitted by local nonprofits, every Monday.
In February, the Register introduced Everyday Heroes, a full-page feature in the Local section every Monday that recognizes and profiles an inspiring person in Orange County who is positively impacting the lives of others.
In January, the Register announced its subscribers designated more than 1,300 charities as beneficiaries of its Golden Envelope program. From December through mid-January, more than 124,000 seven-day subscribers received and endorsed gift cheques to a charity they are most passionate about to help that charity market itself and its mission.
