Daily News brass chalked up last week's layoffs to "strategic changes" tied to the tabloid's ongoing digital evolution.
 
"These changes, as challenging as they are, will help us to re-invest resources in people and technology across our entire business," Daily News C.E.O. Bill Holiber and editor-in-chief/president Colin Myler wrote in a Friday email to employees that was obtained by Capital.
