Three al-Jazeera journalists who have been jailed in Egypt were again denied bail on Monday, despite the prosecution's failure to bring crucial video evidence to the trial for the third session in a row.

Hopes were high for a conditional release after Peter Greste, Mohamed Fahmy and Baher Mohamed were allowed for the first time to leave their defendants' cage and make impassioned face-to-face pleas before the judge.
