Brainworks Software has announced two appointments. Mary Parker has joined the company as corporate business development manager. Formerly with Saxotech, Inc. and Newscycle Solutions, Inc., she has more than 10 years of business, technical and financial experience as a strategic sales manager selling editorial, content management, advertising and circulation systems to the media industry. She will continue her focus on major accounts, including major corporate accounts throughout North America.

We look forward to Mary continuing that work as she helps Brainworks’ deliver great advertising, CRM and circulation solutions to the industry.”

In addition, Mark Ganslaw, long-time industry veteran and founder of Data Sciences, Inc., will join the company as a circulation systems consultant. He has more than 40 years of business, technical and financial experience operating a multi-million dollar software company.  His technical expertise with relational databases, Oracle and Powerbuilder was used to develop, deliver and support sophisticated circulation systems to the media industry.

Ganslaw was the founder and president of Data Sciences, Inc. (DSI), a software development company with 30 employees.  In November 2010, DSI was acquired by Saxotech, Inc. and he consulted for them until recently.  Over the past 40 years, he directed the development, implementation and support of circulation and advertising business system products for the newspaper and media industry.  Under his leadership and direction, DSI became one of the leading providers of business systems to the newspaper industry.  Over his career, he also had numerous technical accomplishments working with water resource systems, traffic control systems, defense system simulations and the Apollo mission simulator.

Brainworks software solutions are installed at over 1,000 North American newspapers over the past 40 years. Products include fully integrated classified and display advertising, circulation, ad production tracking and online proofing for print and online ads, billing, accounts receivable, contract and credit management, classified pagination, ROP ad layout, and a state-of-the art Sales Force Automation system supporting Web, tablet, laptop, and Smartphone platforms.

Brainworks customers include individual newspapers as well as publishing companies, which incorporate multiple products and divisions into a single database.
