The Globe and Mail has promoted three seasoned executives to new positions helming the organization’s advertising sales, marketing and research functions.
Andrew Saunders assumes the newly created role of chief revenue officer, overseeing the Globe’s print and digital product advertising, subscription revenue and audience data analytics. Previously, Saunders was vice president of advertising sales. He brings over two decades of multiplatform media experience to his new position, with deep expertise in managing integrated sales efforts and maximizing commercial value through print, magazine, digital, mobile and custom content properties. Prior to joining the paper in 2001, he held senior positions at CTV including vice president of sales and vice president of revenue management.
Sean Humphrey becomes vice president of marketing. He will oversee the strategy and execution of all brand, reader and trade marketing for the Globe’s full suite of products including print, online, mobile, social media and events. His responsibilities include the oversight of internal and external resources related to advertising, public relations, sponsorships and promotions. Humphrey joined The Globe and Mail in 2004 and has held a series of progressively senior positions within the marketing department, including a leadership role in the recent launch of Globe Unlimited, the Globe’s digital paid subscription service. Prior to joining paper, he held marketing positions at Bell Mobility.
Greg Doufas has been appointed vice president of data and audience intelligence. He brings deep experience in building and leading high performance analytics teams that advance strategic decision making, customer relationship management and product innovation. His responsibilities at the Globe include all data analytics and research related to customer and audience acquisition, engagement and retention. Prior to joining The Globe and Mail in 2012, Doufas was global director of advanced analytics at Research in Motion (Blackberry). He also held progressively senior positions at Rogers Communications in analytics, data mining and database marketing.
