Software company Assignmint LLC has appointed media veteran Maer Roshan to its board of directors. Founded in 2012 by journalist and editor Jeff Koyen (Travel + Leisure, Forbes Traveler, New York Press), Assignmint provides web-based software that streamlines the editorial process, from pitch to payment. The board's expansion coincides with the private beta launch of Assignmint's enterprise software for publishers, connecting editorial and accounting departments with their freelancers.
"Maer's deep industry knowledge and proven entrepreneurial skills are invaluable in furthering Assignmint's goal of fixing the relationship between publishers and writers," said Koyen. "We are very excited to welcome him to the Board as we prepare to launch our enterprise toolkit."
Roshan is an award-winning journalist, editor, producer and entrepreneur. He has launched several titles, including Radar and The Fix, and held top editorial spots at New York, Talk and Interview magazines. Now based in Hollywood, Roshan continues to work as a journalist while producing television projects and documentaries with industry vet Cary Woods. He joins Koyen and investor John Caulkins on the Board.
"Publishing will never be easy," said Roshan, "but Assignmint fixes the day-to-day problems that can derail otherwise great companies. I look forward to working with Jeff and his team as they enter this new stage."
