The North Jersey Media Group has named Rich Colandrea, director, corporate/national sales.
Colandrea spent more than three decades in senior leadership roles at The New York Times, including the positions of executive director of The New York Times Magazine, manager of the Times’ national sales offices, manager of studio and Broadway advertising. He created The New York Times Travel Show and played a key role in launching the newspaper’s Play Magazine. In 1982, Colandrea received a Publisher’s Award from then-publisher Arthur O. Sulzberger, Sr.
“I am delighted that such an experienced executive in both print and digital media has joined us. With The Record’s growing print circulation, our extensive network of community newspapers and our enormous web traffic, we are the best means for corporate and national accounts to reach the North Jersey consumer. Rich will help us help these businesses,” said Stephen Borg, company president.
“I am excited to be associated with another family-owned media company that invests in journalism in both digital and print products,” Colandrea said.
Colandrea began his media career as a reporter for The Item of Millburn-Short Hills, now a NJMG publication.
