Two top journalists at Omaha.com were promoted at The World-Herald
Tuesday following the announcement that C. David Kotok is retiring in
November as managing editor.
Melissa Matczak, 39, will succeed
Kotok as managing editor. Matczak has been an assistant managing editor
for digital operations, overseeing The World-Herald's online edition and
two affiliated websites, Momaha and LivewellNebraska.
Ben
Vankat, 29, will take over as the supervisor of digital operations,
succeeding Matczak as the newsroom's online editor. He will report to
Matczak.
