Toronto-- Postmedia Network has appointed Andrew Coyne as national columnist for Postmedia News. He will file columns for the news service for publication across the Postmedia chain of daily newspapers. Coyne, a founding member of the National Post, was most recently national editor of Maclean's magazine. He has been an editorial writer and columnist for the National Post, The Globe and Mail, and the Southam newspaper chain, contributing as well to a wide range of other publications in Canada and abroad, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Review, Time, and Saturday Night.
He is also a frequent commentator on television and radio, notably on CBC's The National. A four-time finalist for a National Magazine Award, he is the winner of two National Newspaper Awards and the Hyman Solomon Award for Excellence in Public Policy Journalism. He is a fellow of the School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto.
