Richmond, Va.-- Nicole McMullin has been named digital director for Richmond Media Group. In her expanded role, McMullin will oversee digital innovation, product development and system implementation for the group. She will be involved with all of Richmond Media Group’s digital channels, including TimesDispatch.com, Richmond.com, Work It, Richmond and the Richmond Suburban Newspaper sites.
McMullin has been part of Richmond Media Group, or its previous owner Media General, since 2004. She has held a variety of roles, most focused on connecting with audiences through digital channels. A graduate of Virginia Union University, McMullin’s roots are in producing content. In addition, she’s excelled at project management, leading a number of major digital initiatives.
“Nicole is helping steer as we navigate the digital transformation of our business,” said Daniel P. Finnegan, editor of The Times-Dispatch.
McMullin is a 2012 graduate of the Great Richmond Chamber of Commerce’s Mentor Richmond program, and she is immediate past president of the Virginia chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Last year, Editor & Publisher identified her as one of the top “25 under 35” media professionals in the country.
