New York--Hearst Corp. has announced that John C. McKeon has been named president and publisher of the San Antonio (Texas) Express-News. McKeon joins the Express-News from The Dallas Morning News where he was president and general manager responsible for all business side operations since October 2007.

Prior to The Dallas Morning News, McKeon held senior executive positions throughout the newspaper industry, including: president of MediaNews Group’s Los Angeles Newspaper Group from 2006 of 2007; SVP of marketing for Knight-Ridder Newspapers from 2005 to 2006; and more than 20 years with Tribune/Times Mirror, most recently as president and general manager of Newsday from 2004 to 2005, president and general manager of Sun-Sentinel/WBLZ from 2001 to 2004, and SVP of marketing and advertising for the Los Angeles Times from 1998 to 2001.
