Sandusky, Ohio--Doug Phares has been promoted to president of the Sandusky Newspaper Division. As president, Phares will be the chief operating officer of all Sandusky Newspapers, Inc.’s newspapers, their related digital operations and supporting units. He will continue in his role as publisher of the Sandusky Register and president of the related Tandem Media Network marketing group. Phares has been president of the Sandusky Midwest Division. He has worked in the media business since 1989, first with Copley Newspapers and later Boone Newspapers before joining Sandusky in 2005.
Sandusky operates The Standard-Examiner in Ogden, Utah; Kingsport Times-News, Lebanon Democrat and Johnson City Press in Tennessee; the Norwalk Reflector and Sandusky Register in Ohio; and the Grand Haven Tribune in Michigan, as well as radio stations in Phoenix and Seattle.
