New York — The Forward, America’s most influential Jewish newspaper and website, has appointed three new members of its management team, reflecting the organization’s increased emphasis on digital media: Bob Goldfarb to the newly created position of director of marketing and audience development, Kim Rosenberg Amzallag as director of advertising and Dave Goldiner as deputy director of digital media. In addition, The Forward also announced best-selling author Daniel Jonah Goldhagen will contribute a monthly column to its opinion pages.

Bob Goldfarb will take responsibility for expanding the audience, visibility and influence of the publication’s Yiddish- and English-language products through traditional marketing, digital and social media channels, and events. Most recently, he was based in Jerusalem as president of the Center for Jewish Culture and Creativity. Prior to that, he was publisher of the print and online magazine Zeek: A Jewish Journal of Thought and Culture from 2006-2008.

Kim Rosenberg Amzallag will lead the advertising sales staff’s efforts across the publication’s expanding lineup of media products. She will also work directly with major accounts and agencies to create powerful multiplatform marketing campaigns. Previously, Amzallag was director of sales and marketing, then director of corporate accounts at Mishpacha magazine, where she successfully launched a spinoff food title, Kosher Inspired. Earlier in her career, Amzallag was the founding publisher of Jewish Living and along with her experience at Jewish publications, sold print and digital advertising to clients in the retail, luxury goods, fashion, consumer products and other categories for magazines. She also represented approximately 200 Jewish publications at Joseph Jacobs Advertising, and has experience in digital marketing services and retail management.

Dave Goldiner will report to director of digital media Gabrielle Birkner and provide supervision of The Forward’s digital publishing operations throughout the news cycle. Previously, Goldiner worked for 12 years as a reporter and editor at the New York Daily News. Before that, Goldiner wrote for papers in South Africa and Zimbabwe. He was also managing editor at the Riverdale Press, a Pulitzer Prize-winning community paper in the Bronx.

Daniel Jonah Goldhagen is the author of Hitler’s Willing Executioners: Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust; Worse Than War: Genocide, Eliminationism, and the Ongoing Assault on Humanity; and A Moral Reckoning: The Role of the Church in the Holocaust and Its Unfulfilled Duty of Repair. He is an affiliate of Harvard University’s Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies and a former associate professor at Harvard. He has written for The Forward, The New York TimesLos Angeles TimesWashington Post and other major newspapers and magazines around the world.
