Michael James, 50, has been named executive editor of The Tuscaloosa News.
He previously was The News' business editor.
“Michael has been a solid leader in our newsroom since he moved to Tuscaloosa in 2001,” said News Publisher Tim Thompson. “Our staff's enthusiasm about his promotion is quite obvious."
