James Downie has been named digital opinion editor at The Washington Post. He will oversee The Post’s opinion bloggers, as well as contributions from The Post’s regular and guest columnists. Downie previously served as the paper’s day editor for opinions. Prior to that, he served as a reporter-researcher at The New Republic.
