Steve Canyon -- the square-jawed Air Force fighter created by Milton Caniff -- is coming to DVD.
All 34 episodes of the "Steve Canyon" television show have been restored and will be released in three volumes to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the show -- one of the most expensive and realistic series in early TV.
The show was based on the newspaper comic strip that ran for 41 years until the 1988 death of the legendary cartoonist Caniff.
The first volume of "The Complete Steve Canyon on TV" will be released Nov. 18, and include the first 12 episodes of the series in their running order. The DVD will retail for $24.95, and can be ordered online at http://stevecanyondvd.blogspot.com.
The second volume will follow in 60-90 days later, and volume 3 -- with such extras as a history of the show, a documentary on star Dean Fredericks, and the uncut pilot show.
