Against All Odds, a New Newspaper War Erupts

Aaron Kushner is a successful businessman and a smart guy. Before
getting involved with newspapers, he was a Web entrepreneur and a
greeting card magnate. He studied economics at Stanford, graduating with
honors, and went on to get a master's there in organizational analysis.
it's likely he's at least a little aware of all of this gloom and doom
about the newspaper business in the digital era. Advertising is
shrinking precipitously. Readers are giving up newsprint to access news
on their computers and smartphones and tablets. Some savants wonder just
how long the retro old print products can endure.
