Texas Newspaper Goes To Carolinas-Based Company

Dallas-based Belo announced it will sell The Eagle of Bryan-College Station, Texas, to a private newspaper group, Evening Post Publishing Co. of Charleston, S.C.

Owned by Belo since 1995, the Eagle has a daily circulation of 23,493 and Sunday circulation of 28,295. The newspaper is the second of three smaller papers that Belo announced in June it would sell.

The Evening Post group owns 10 newspapers in the Carolinas, including The Posts and Courier in Charleston. The company also publishes the English-language Buenos Aires Herald in Argentina, and owns 13 TV stations.
