Birmingham News Editor Stepping Down This Fall

Birmingham News Editor Tom Scarritt will step down this fall, Birmingham News Multimedia company President Pam Siddall announced.

Scarritt joined The Birmingham News in 1975 and worked in a number of reporting jobs, including Washington correspondent. He served as the paper's editorial page editor and its executive editor before being named editor in 1997. He is currently vice president of the Birmingham News Multimedia Co.
