Comic Strip Artist Shares Humor, Character of the West With the World

Millions of newspaper readers on five continents got a taste of the West in the 1960s and '70s through Montana artist Stan Lynde's western cartoon strip "Rick O'Shay."
"I deeply love this special place and am proud to be a Montanan," said Lynde, who strove to "show something of the character, the courage, the honesty and especially the humor of the West as it was and still is."
"Rick O'Shay" featured the good-hearted Rick and his equally noble sidekick, Hipshot Percussion.
