In the latest development at 620 Eighth Avenue, New York Times union organizers have called on hundreds of rank and file to leave the building at 3:35 today for a rally on the sidewalk west of the building. The message to Times management: Stop being so stingy!

The last significant strike at the Times took place in 1978, when union members staged an 88-day walk-out.
