Wanda Artus-Cooper has been named vice president of corporate sales at Freedom Communications. She will lead the planning and execution of sales strategies to drive advertising growth, improved revenue performance and retention. She will also play a leadership role in training, coaching and developing sales teams, as well as structuring enterprise-wide compensation plans.
Most recently, Artus-Cooper has served as a consultant at 2100 Trust, LLC, a private equity firm founded by Kushner focusing on acquiring promising newspaper properties. From September 2010 to November 2011, Artus-Cooper served as vice president of business development at PromoWorks LLC in Schaumburg, Ill., the nation's largest provider of in-store engagement and sampling programs serving national consumer packaged goods companies and major retailers.
From June 2009 to August 2010, Artus-Cooper developed a business plan and operational strategy for a national “kid healthy” brand as consulting chief executive officer at Merryweather Farms, a privately held branding and marketing company. Prior to that, she has served as vice president at Chef Creations/Culinary Concepts, Inc., CEO at Excelline Foods, Inc., and president and COO at Richelieu Foods.
In the media business, Artus-Cooper has served as advertising director for GateHouse Media from July 2007 to May 2009, where she developed and implemented revenue-growth and cost-savings plans to restore profitability for two regional daily newspaper properties. She also led strategic planning and increased profitability as president and COO at TransADVO, an ADVO subsidiary specializing in logistics planning and execution services.
