New York, N.Y. – Genesis Media, a video ad solutions company focused on the monetization challenges of tier-1 publishers, has announced the appointment of Mark Yackanich as its new chief executive officer. Concurrently, the board of directors has appointed interim CEO and co-founder Andrew Reis as chairman of the board.
Yackanich is a seasoned operator and video product development expert, with credentials ranging from early stage venture management to big media and cable. Prior to Genesis, he was CEO of MegaPhone Labs, a pioneering participatory television company. Previously, he worked at NBC as vice president of strategy and planning for their TV stations division, and led business operations for the launch of Hulu.
As Genesis Media’s new chairman, Reis comes with vast experience in the online video ad technology sector. Previously, Reis co-founded and was chief operating officer of Tremor Media, a leader in digital video advertising. Reis also co-founded BlackOcean USA, a digital media incubator based in New York that invests in and assists young digital companies with a focus on video, mobile and social business models. Separately, Reis has seen five separate exits from digital companies he founded or co-founded.
