SARASOTA, FL … The Herald-Tribune and its entertainment site, TicketSarasota.com, have launched a new iPhone application. Ticket Sarasota is available free through the App Store at apple.com/apps.
The application provides users access to listings, reviews, articles and photos from across the region. It is designed so users can immediately access where they want to go and what they want to do – including dining, nightlife, attractions, arts, movies and weekend events.
“We’ve been thrilled by initial reaction to the app,” said Executive Editor Mike Connelly. “We put a lot of focus on enhancing the user experience, including listings, and are proud of the results.”
Another significant feature of the app is geo-tracking, which locks in on the user’s location to identify nearby restaurants, bars, music venues and other attractions.
The app launch comes on the heels of TicketSarasota.com winning an EPPY award from Editor & Publisher for best online entertainment blog.
