Houston Chronicle Names New Executive Editor

Houston Chronicle editor Jeff Cohen is taking a new position in charge of the newspaper's editorial and op-ed pages.
"Being editor-in-chief has been wonderful, and it has been exhilarating to lead the talented and dedicated journalists in the Chronicle newsroom," Cohen said. "But there comes a time when you want to leave the administrative duties behind and focus full time on words and ideas. That time for me is now."
In his new position as executive editor and executive vice president, Cohen will report to publisher Tom Stephenson.
