Lancaster, Pa.-- Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. has announced the appointment and promotions of key positions in its newspaper holdings. Robert M. Krasne has been named president and publisher of Lancaster Newspapers, Inc., which publishes the Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era and the Sunday News as well as LancasterOnline.com. Krasne is also vice chairman of the board of directors for all Steinman companies. He has served as interim CEO since last September.
Also at Lancaster Newspapers, Nancy Fisher has been promoted to vice president of finance and administration. Fisher previously served as director of finance. She began her career at Lancaster Newspapers in 1999.
“Our mission is twofold: We will continue to be the leading source of news and information about Lancaster County and for Lancastrians, and we will be the most effective means for every business and individual to communicate directly with the residents of Lancaster County,” Krasne said.
He said Lancaster Newspapers is committed to its print publication just as much as its digital publications. “Our focus is content – providing meaningful, useful, insightful, compelling content every single day. Whether our readers want to access that content in print, online, on their phones, on a tablet, we’ll provide it in the format of their choosing. But it all starts with providing the news and information Lancastrians want and need.”
Krasne pointed out that the Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era and Sunday News maintains a very large audience, about 200,000 Lancaster County adult readers every day. There are an additional 125,000 Lancaster County readers reading LancasterOnline.com.
Over the next several months, readers of Lancaster Newspapers’ print and digital publications can expect to see a new, interactive digital replica of the newspaper, an easier-to-navigate design of the LancasterOnline website, and a redesign of the newspapers for an overall better experience for the readers.
“We’re just getting started,” Krasne said, “but the changes we’ve made so far are creating momentum inside our organization and in the community. Our future is very bright.”
