A regional publishing company is introducing a major innovation. From the fall of 2013, Lippische Landes-Zeitung will publish its content in an app which is deeply integrated in the production workflow using Ditto Publisher, an HTML5-based solution, thereby expanding its digital range of products. Thanks to responsive design, the device-optimized content of the app will be automatically processed and augmented.

The new app from Lippische Landes-Zeitung is a combination of static and live content. Apart from the news from the daily newspaper, which is available offline, the app will offer breaking news as soon as a reader goes online. The app will also provide an e-paper of the print edition as a PDF.

Hosted solution
Ditto Publisher runs as a hosted solution and is connected to the editorial system via an XML interface. The price of a rentable version of the software is geared to the number of users using the app and is transparent and low-priced. “Our goal is to penetrate the digital market even further quickly and efficiently: a sustainable product, short project times, low costs and a reliable partner provide the foundation for this,” says Christina D‘Ilio, Online/New Media Director at Lippische Landes-Zeitung.
