Overton, Neb.— Mildred Heath never went anywhere without a pad of paper and a pencil.
Heath, 104, a longtime resident of Overton and co-founder of the Beacon Observer newspaper, died Wednesday at Senior Living Choices in Curtis.
Known around Overton for her love of news and energetic nature, Heath stayed active as a journalist until June 1, 2009, when the Beacon Observer was sold to new owners.
