Media General CEO: Newspaper Sale Would Improve Market Value

Selling its newspaper operations would improve the overall market value of Richmond-based Media General Inc., the company's top executive told shareholders at its annual meeting Thursday.

The company announced in February that it was considering selling some or all of its print media properties. Its newspapers include the Richmond Times-Dispatch, The Tampa Tribune and the Winston-Salem Journal, along with other daily and weekly publications in Virginia, North Carolina and the Southeast.
