On Friday, some 745 newspaper boxes in downtown Toronto will be removed as part of the security measures for the G20 summit.
The newsracks will be removed along with 1,000 other pieces of “street furniture” -- trash bins, mass transit shelters and even Canada Post mailboxes -- in time for the June 26-27 summit.
Each newspaper will be responsible for removing its racks. The racks will be reinstalled starting July 5.
