North Carolina Makes Room for Fifth Spanish-language Newspaper

A Charlotte publisher has launched the
Triangle’s fifth Spanish-language newspaper, a measure of the growing
financial clout of the area’s Hispanic community.
La Noticia, a free weekly that focuses on “hyperlocal” community news, debuted in the Triangle this week. The paper will be distributed at more than 500 locations in seven counties and expects to achieve a circulation of 26,000, said publisher Hilda Gurdian.
