The cold-case storage room in police stations
around the county might be the last stop for thousands of homicide
victims who have no other place to go.
Most times the cases sit in dog-eared files gathering dust, waiting for the one item of evidence - or the one witness - that can let the victims rest in peace.
Some of those cases have been on the shelf for years. Every now and then they get a new look; a fresh set of eyes.
