The Advocate swept the investigative reporting category at the annual Society of Professional Journalists' Excellence in Connecticut Journalism dinner Thursday night.
Magdalene Perez and Brian Lockhart won first place in the category for a report on the role of the general contractor of the Stamford Urban Transitway in an alleged fraud scheme to overcharge for work on a New York shopping mall.
