Tony Murphy's 'It's All About You' Comic Signed by WPWG

The Washington Post Writers Group (WPWG) is syndicating a strip called "It's All About You" that will come to comics pages Dec. 31.
It's by Tony Murphy, who said: "The strip's title is sort of a joke in itself. It's really all about me. But to the extent that you can relate to it, it?s all about you, too."
Murphy's persona in the comic is a "caffeine-craving neurotic" named Michael, who's in a long-term, pre-marital relationship with a well-balanced, herbal-tea-drinking woman named Gina.
"Michael epitomizes today's mentality," said WPWG Comics Editor Amy Lago. "We're obsessed with how we appear to the rest of the world, yet desperate to win acceptance strictly by being ourselves."
Gina and Michael frequent a local cafe where the barista, Chris, is sort of a therapist for his self-involved customers. They include Gina's friend Maggie (who's addicted to self-help books) and Maggie's father Alex (who rationalizes away his failure to follow a diet or go to the gym). Another patron is Albert -- Michael's software-company cubicle-mate as well as a sounding board for Michael's hang-ups and relationship with Gina.
