
Little Rock, Ark.-- Conan Gallaty has been named executive vice president of WEHCO Digital Media, a new division of WEHCO Media Inc. In this role, Gallaty will oversee the growth of digital product development, operations and revenue strategy for the company, inside its newspapers as well as pursuing new business opportunities in digital media.
Gallaty is being promoted from his current role as online director at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Before joining the company, he spent 11 years in digital publishing at the New York Times Company and Morris Communications.
During his three years at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Gallaty was responsible for growth in digital revenue and audience. In June, the Audit Bureau of Circulations reported the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette was the second-fastest-growing newspaper in the country for print and digital readership. He was also responsible for introducing new mobile application technology, including the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s iPad app and the new augmented reality app, PLUS.
