Michael Cavna at Washingtonpost.com's Comic Riffs takes on the issue of cutting political cartoonist jobs, asking in a posting today: "Just how much is a political cartoonist worth?"
Taking views of some well-known cartoonists, and several who have left their newspaper employment, Cavna tallies the opinions and offers advice to editors: "A top-notch political cartoonist is worth at least as much a star sports columnist. On balance, in fact, they can be strikingly similar."
