Woodward Communications Names Group Editor

Dyersville, Iowa -- Matt Muilenburg has joined Woodward Communications as group editor of the Dyersville Commercial and Cascade Pioneer. Muilenburg was most recently the editor of the weekly paper, The Record, in Conrad, Iowa.

Muilenburg joined The Record as a sports editor and won a pair of first place awards at the 2012 INA Better Newspaper Contest for work as a columnist and reporter. He was previously a sports editor for the Macomb Eagle and a sports correspondent for the NewsTribune (LaSalle, Ill.).

Prior to moving to Iowa, Muilenburg taught lower-level English courses at Wichita State as a graduate student. He was also editor of the university’s two literary journals after serving as both nonfiction editor and assistant editor. In addition to his journalism awards, Muilenburg has also published several short stories and creative essays in various literary journals.
