Syndicated columnist, author, and veterinarian Dr. Michael W. Fox has co-written a new book, ?Not Fit for a Dog! The Truth About Manufactured Dog and Cat Food? (Quill Driver, October 2008), which its authors hope will connect with concerned pet owners across the country fearful of buying unsafe food.

Co-written by Dr. Elizabeth Hodgkins and Dr. Marion E. Smart, ?Not Fit for a Dog!? indicates that the massive recall of more than 1,000 varieties of cat and dog food is only tip of the iceberg. Beneath the radar of inadequate government oversight, the authors say, lay serious problems about pet food manufacturers? claims and assurances of product safety and quality.
