Alan Gardner at The Daily Cartoonist reports that on page 269, Parker writes, ?I was studying a strip called Stone Soup, which seemed pretty good, and might fill the void left by 'Calvin & Hobbes,' when Maggie Lane came in to see me.?
Bill Watterson's critically acclaimed "Calvin & Hobbes" was syndicated daily from Nov. 18, 1985, to Dec. 31, 1995.
Parker previously mentioned "Calvin and Hobbes" in his 2007 book "Now and Then."
