The daily lives and elaborate fantasies of the Gumbo family — Rose, Jimbo, Pasquale, and Peekaboo — will soon be chronicled in the 11th collection of their popular comic strip.
“Not Just Another Sweetheart Deal: A Collection of Rose is Rose Comics,” a 128-page trade paperback, will be released next month by Andrews McMeel Publishing.
“Rose is Rose” is distributed to more than 600 newspapers by United Features Syndicate . The strip has been written by Pat Brady since 1984 and illustrated by Don Wimmer since 2004 — the year Brady won a Reuben Award from the National Cartoonists Society for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year. The strip has also been honored with the Religious Public Relations Council's Wilbur Award for Editorial Cartoon/Comic Strips.
