Publishing giants The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal firmed up exclusive deals with Flipboard and Pulse earlier in the week for exclusive content to go out to these third-party mobile apps, but as one Flipboard rival explains, this news can only a good thing for the media industry.
 
"I think that it's definitely good for the industry because NYT and WSJ have historically been very conservative in terms of working with aggregators and de-bundling their content", said News360 CEO Roman Karachinsky, when speaking to TabTimes today. "So any sort of progress from them will certainly drive the other, more liberal publishers, forward.
