The agreement will enable World Media Enterprises—publisher of the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the Winston-Salem Journal, and many others across the southeast U.S.—to produce content that is seamlessly pushed to users on web and mobile platforms. Sites will be built with BLOX CMS, a cloud-based content management system designed specifically for news and media publishing organizations.
“TownNews.com will help us deliver the top-notch local news that our users want in an efficient, cost-effective way,” said Douglas Hiemstra, president of World Media Enterprises. “It was critical for us to find an easy-to-use cloud-based solution. We also wanted to go with a vendor that’s committed to our industry. TownNews.com offers us all of this and more.”
World Media Enterprises’ first site launch on BLOX CMS is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2012.
World Media Enterprises also has selected TownNews.com to host its online publications associated with the Bryant-College Station Eagle, and the Waco, Texas, Herald-Tribune.
